Fleshy groundsel, ( Othonna gregorii)

The Fleshy groundsel is an erect herb of 10-30 cm in height, which has hairless blue-green foliage. It flowers from late winter to early spring, and when mature, the flowerheads release large numbers of seeds that have long tufts of silky hairs. Found on deep sandy red earths, the Fleshy groundsel is abundant in years of good winter rainfall, when vast areas are transformed to a sea of yellow daisy flowers.
