Soft billy buttons (Craspedia pleiocephala)

Soft Billy Buttons is a small, slightly woolly to almost hairless herb, which grows up to 30 cm. It has round yellow flowers which appear from spring to early summer. It is quite abundant in better rainfall years, but is typically restricted to scattered plants in years of low rainfall. It occurs in a variety of habitats and on many soil -types. In the Roxby Downs region, for instance, it is commonly found on sandy soils in mulga communities.
